how to keep a label colour when compressing/archiving a folder

does anyone have a solution to this?

a folder with a colour label, is archived using compress facility on osx 10.6.8, when archived the colour label is lost, i have a folder with various sub folders in it, each sub folder has a different label colour.

any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

That's Odd, I never had problems with it, but I am in Leopard.

Just tried, zipped a folder and unzipped, label colours are there.
