Looking at getting either the crucial m4 or samsung 830 512GB SSD. Leaning towards crucial since its 10-15% cheaper.

Anyway, for drive bay adapters I got a few choices

Buy the crucial drive with their desktop kit which includes a drive adapter

Buy the silverstone 2in 1 drive bay adapter from amazon

Buy the OWC drive bay adapter

My main concern for all of these is, do they fit and will the SATA cable be long enough. Any advice from somebody whose done this?

I just ordered a Crucial m4 and an Icy Dock converter for my 2007 20" iMac. I just got it this afternoon, so I haven't had a chance to install it yet. But I found quite a few people who suggested the Icy Dock adapter.

A few people suggested that the Crucial supply bracket did not fit. Also keep in mind that there is a difference between an adapter to fit a 3.5" BAY and an adapter to fit a 3.5" HDD mount. You want the latter.

Let us know how that works. I am kind of leery of something that supplies any data connection. I just want a piece of metal that holds the drive in place. One more thing to trouble shoot if something doesn't work.
