iTunes 11 RAM Usage?

Why is iTunes 11 using 500MB of RAM? That's never happened before with previous iterations of iTunes.

I have no idea, but that's way too much. I saw another user here with 750MB RAM usage. I haven't upgraded on our MBP, and I can't right now with the iBook I'm using, but how slow does it run with that much used.

Memory leak issue probably. It happens a lot with new versions.

Indeed this seems to be an issue. I can barely run photoshop and iTunes 11 at the same time.

Same here, 450mb...
I was wondering why my mbp runs so slow today.. and I even got pop up message saying I'm running out of memory.. I opened up "Activity Monitor" and found out iTunes is using 450mb memories..

Not just me then, although mine seems to be extremely high!

Any ideas?

There definitely seems to be a memory leak. When first started, it used just under 100mb, but at the moment it is using almost 600.

The usage starts to climb as soon as you start browsing the iTunes store, so my theory is that it's similar to the memory leaks Safari used to have where it would not release ram after doing lots of browsing. After all, when browsing the itunes store, it's simply acting as a web browser. It's probably keeping all past pages in ram and not releasing it ever.
