Smile User RAM and Hard Drive Upgrade Procedure

21.5" iMac models.
Here is a quick online guide outlining the RAM and drive access and upgrade procedure.
About 10 minutes of (foolish Apple induced) grief to lift the screen from the frame then you'll access the tight but basically navigable innards to make your enhancements: http://macramdirect.com/21.5upgrade.html

The 27" is quicker and easier ... but at a price

The obstacle may come when you want to place the LCD back.
According to my source from Quanta Computer near Shanghai (that is where almost all apple computers are manufactured), Apple struggled a lot to solve the glue issue.
