Would you do this to your iPhone?

I am so tempted to do this, looks pretty legit. But on the downside, warranty..... Also very pricey at $250.

I also emailed them, the process takes 1;2 weeks. So that means no phone for that amount of time. But heres a screen shot, I think I will do it and maybe this gets rid of the "scuff gate" if so I wonder why apple wouldn't use this process to manufacture the iPhone 5..

It's all personal opinion. It looks pretty sweet but I'd rather keep my phone looking original

Wow, someone else is finally stepping into coloware's space? Those don't look...great, I would check on the warranty, colorware replaced my Apple warranty when I got my first iPod in black, but that was also...9 years ago. God I'm old.

I can think of $250 reasons why, these people are also painting the phone.

Plain and simple? No.

But everyone is different. It's certainly unique if you want your iPhone to stand out from the rest.

I really like it, however, I'm not keen on spending $250 and sending my phone away for a week or more. It just seems really expensive unless you're going to hold onto your phone for a long time - and I don't have a spare phone to use in the meantime.

I think this is more for people who want to attract attention then for people who want to make their phone look better. If I was going to spend $250 to change the looks of my phone, I'd be sure to spend it on something that made it look better. That's just my opinion. I also don't go to the gym wearing "hey look at me" flourscent green shoes either though.

Of course not. Phone needs warranty repair two weeks after you do this-you are SOOL. Resale value-SOOL.

As amazing as it is there are many of us that couldn't care less about resale value. And what the hell does SOOL mean, I can't imagine you're talking about a city in Somalia.

what?

What makes this worth $250?

Can't a simple colored skin around the edges and on the back do effectively the same thing at literally a fraction of the cost?

I just got and installed a Best skins ever skin (clear) and I don't have to worry about chipping scratching.

Plus $250 is an applecare+ warranty AND two replacements under warranty ($100+50+50) AND dinner out... I can't imagine spending that kind of loot on something like this...

You can get about 95% of the effect with a cheap skin available all over the place for less than $40 (way less in may instances). Then you still keep your warranty, can switch the color if you like or go back to original, and keep $200+ in your pocket.

It's re-anodized NOT painted. Stop spreading misinformation. This is actually much more durable than the black iPhone which uses paint and anodizing or the white iphone which uses anodizing and bare aluminium.

False. Anodizing provides a metalic finish which nothing except anodizing can replicated and then the phone is etched with the original logos. Stickers look like stickers. This looks much better.

It looks close enough that most people who want a colored phone without buying a case would choose a sticker over a $250 re-anodization process.

woah there cowboy... who's spreading false information? Nobody said annodizing is the same as stickers. You're 100% correct... annodized aluminum is not the same as putting a sticker on aluminum. Nobody in this thread has said otherwise. It's like you're begging an e-argument.

What was said by myself and the other guy at the same time is that if color is what you're after, you can achieve this at a fraction of the cost using a simple skin. In fact, from the pictures, without reading any text, it looks like a skin...

Again, I can't imagine sending my new phone in for a week, voiding my warranty, and paying the astronomical fee for something this trivial.

Ever notice how everyone is an anodization specialist since the i5 came out?

On the thread topic.. hell no. Looks like the phone enrolled in a highly priced clown college.
