iTunes 11 for iPhone 5 and iPad?

This is a simple question, but is iTunes 11 available for the iPhone 5 or iPad 2?

I haven't seen any "updates" on either device.

Is it something you have to manually check for? I have tried checking the "Software Update" but it says that it is up to date.

Different programmes. Though they have the same name and do the same thing, they are not the same. Itunes 11 is a windows/OSX application, Itunes is an iPhone/iPod/iPad application.

In short: You won't receive an update.

iTunes 11 is for the PC/Mac. The iTunes you see on your iPhone or iPad is basically updated in the background so you won't seen an update for those. I believe they are updated when iOS is updated.

This is correct. If you can't buy it in the store (like, Safari, Mail, Phone) then you can't update it on its own. They only get updated when the OS gets updated.
