Get a stand instead. That way, you don't have to be in a car to use it.

If you do something like that, wouldn't it always have to plugged in since you don't have access to the Lightning port? That sounds like trouble to me.

what you guys are missing that most of those designs like that are not permanent. If you press on the bezel it probably pops out so you can get the ipad mini back out.

I am doing this....just bought a new bezel for my truck going to take it to an auto shop that does fiberglass in order to get them to put it all together....having a Ford with Sync, I am able to easily connect it through the dash to the system. Can't wait, it's going to be awesome looking, plus, I don't have to disconnect my current stereo, it can stay in there and be completely controlled with the steering wheel controls...
