Well, now that I have a Ti book, and an evergrowing iTunes library, I am wondering if the Tibook can support a 5.1 speaker system. Also, I would like to know what people think is the best. I have boiled the contenders down to the following:

Klipsch Promedia 5.1 500W
Logitech Z-680 THX 5.1 450W
Logitech Z-560 4.1 400W
HK Soundsticks 10W-More for stlye that anything

Any suggestions?😕

I concur with daniel77. Klipsch speakers are the highest quality multimedia speakers I have ever heard. It was very difficult to part with my original 4.1 setup when I sold my PC.

I'm planning on getting a 2.1 setup in the near future for my TiBook. 🙂

[edit: Oh, on the 5.1 support thing...you'll need an adapter to get 5.1 output, such as this one http://www.m-audio.net/products/consumer/sonica_page1.php ]

Though I have never used any of the speakers in question, I will say that, without any doubt, Klipsch makes the greatest speakers on the market. I used to have some Klipsch stereo speakers. Listening to music on them was the defining moment which led to my current education in sound arts. They are phenomenal! Buy them! And get a set for me! 8]

I have heard a lot of positive things about Klipsch, including some hear. 🙂

If you are still interested in options, you may want to take a look at this list of systems from Cambridge Soundworks, as well as any other 5.1 systems that interest you.

One model of 5.1 I found was this model and it is priced at $250.
