Application'contacts' loses sequence before printing

I'm trying to print a 152 card group from 'contacts' on letter size form which is in last name alphabetical order within the group but after I send it to print,the print preview shows that there is absolutely no sequence to the file about to print.This is a new iMac running Mountain Lion 10.8.2.This process had always worked on my old iMac which had address book.I've tried everything I can think of.Printer is Canon iP4600 running PrinterProxy 8.1.
