Yes I thought so as well. After talking on the phone at time of purchase got free upgrade in shipping, my ship date was actually in January before upgrade in shipping.

I ordered my BTO on Nov 30, 9:00 p.m. in Asia region
It appears Apple is shipping the iMAC randomly???

Received an email at 2am pacific saying it has been shipped. Also check the support page and it is there finally. It is being shipped FEDEX and is scheduled for delivery the 19th

I wish good luck to the rest of you I hope you do get them sooner
