I have noticed may failed ATI radeon 2600XT and 2400XT video cards in the imac 20" A1224, however this is the first time I have experienced this issue. A client asked me to look at his imac A1224 which is not powering on. My first thought was to check the power supply. Power supply was fine. I doubled checked the power supply with a working unit also. All diagnostic lights are off tell me that no power is supplied to the board. I removed the board to inspect. Once the board was removed I later removed the video card and used a working unit from another machine slapped it back in and it turned ON! it looks like the faulty care is causing some type of short. Would any one know how to repair the ati radeon 2600XT (661-4436) or experienced the same issue?
