Is the new external Superdrive rip-locked?

I have never heard anything to say that you can't use it to rip. Frankly, all the drive does is read and write. Software does the real work. iTunes is Apple software, and the super drive is Apple hardware; they should work together fine. For DVD ripping, I would still expect them to work just fine. I'll try on Monday or Tuesday, whenever FedEx feels like bringing my iMac the last 15 miles to my house.
