Any Applescript examples I can copy and paste and COMPILE and then run?

Any good ones which ask you to enter an answer to a question etc?

I am surprised it's so hard to find fun script examples that people can use?

Like what? Most workflows are tailored to a specific user's needs, so a topic about troubleshooting a particular issue rarely contains a complete script.
