Boot my mac

I want to perform some taskings with disk genius in my macbook pro, but i need to reboot it with a secondary drive to performe it. Can i use my time machine external backup usb drive for it?

No, the Time Machine isn't bootable. You would need to install OS X on an external hard drive.

You should be able to boot from the Drive Genius CD and perform all the tasks you need.

Just use Carbon Copy Cloner or Superduper to clone you HDD to an external drive, then you can boot from that.
