GeForce 680MX OS X Driver Question

Forgive me and my unfamiliarity, but does OS X require driver updates like a Windows-based PC?
The following link doesn't reference Mac or PC at my first glance. Should I be downloading this? It says it will increase frame rate.

GPU drivers for OS X come as Software Updates pushed by Apple. If you Bootcamp into Windows, what Nvidia releases is relevant to you; if you are OS X only, it's not.
