What is "Super Drive"
When I insert a CD into my iMac intel dual core its shows up as a disk on my desktop. But when I go to Disk Utility it does not register as a removable disk but under something called "Super Drive." I don't know where this came from or how to get rid of it. i want the CD to register as a removable disk. Any suggestions?

Super Drive is just Apple's name for the CD/DVD drive. In disk utility, whatever you have inserted in the drive should appear under the SuperDrive heading.

"SuperDrive" is Apple's name for a CD & DVD reader/writer. It's showing correctly in disk utility.

SuperDrive is just Apple’s flashy marketing name for the DVD drive. Like iSight instead of webcam.
