My favorite was some knucklehead was planning on a shooting spree because she thought there wouldn't be any consequences due to the world ending. She is in jail of course, but man, what are these people thinking?

The Mayans couldn't even predict their own demise, and idiots out there thought the Mayans could predict the end of the world. I put these people in the same knucklehead groups that believe in UFOs, the yetti, Loch Ness monster and so on. All quacks and nutcases.

To be fair, that's no different in any way, shape or form from believing that there's a god who created the Earth. Which, mindbogglingly, half the planet's population does. I'm not surprised by literally anything that people convince themselves of. I just watch and continue to be astonished.
