Hi guys,

I have a 27" mid-2010 iMac 8GB 1TB HD on SL 10.6.8 running in what seems to be really slow process. Trying to run Photoshop and just a simple web browser in the background seems to 'hog' the machine. Do you know what can be done to speed it up? Will updating to Lion on this machine help at all, along with an speed increase at all? Have you found Lion quicker to use on this machine?

Has the computer been getting slower? If so, your HDD is either getting full, or it might be getting old.

I added a 250gb SSD to my 2010 27" and it sped up immensly. The cumputer now starts in 12 seconds, and apps launch almost instantly.

If you are going to get an SSD installed, you might also want to look at increasing the RAM to 16GB. Though, 8GB should be enough for photoshop and a browser.
