iTunes 11 Unwatched TV shows are a mess

The way iTunes 11 lets me view tv shows is a mess. When I click on the Unwatched tab, it brings up stuff from 2+ years ago that I know have been watched. There is no way to mark shows as watched, say like there is in mail.app to mark messages a read, so I don't see a way to clean that up. The List view for tv shows is even worse, showing every show every purchased. While in theory that might be useful for some people to be able to see everything they have access to you, in my case I am interested in the most recent, new stuff that I have downloaded for watching. That stuff is interspersed among all the stuff already watched. I was able to create a smart playlist to filter things a bit better, but this shouldn't be necessary.

I think I need to downgrade to 10.

Right click > Mark as Watched



You can even select multiple items and do this as well.
