I just recently bought a XFX Radeon HD 6570, for my Mac Pro, and everything seems to be working great. My only issue is that I can't seem to open any games made by Valve. I tried TF2, Portal, And Left 4 Dead. I've been searching everywhere for an answer, and I'm coming up dry.

Here are my specs:

Mac Pro 1.1
Running OS X Lion (10.7.5)
2x 3.0GHz Dual Core Xeon processors.
3 GB of RAM
Radeon HD 6570 Core Edition, 2 GB DDR3

Thank you!

Was there a good reason for getting the 6570 rather than, say, a 5770 or even 5870? The performance on the 6570 is fairly poor.

Also, can I confirm that you only have the 3Gb despite having the dual processor model? An upgrade there may be effective use of money.

He probably got a PC 6570.

The reason the 5770 and 5870 mac native cards are literally twice as expensive as their PC counterparts, and outdated cards to boot.

And upgrading ram for a mac 1.1 is probably ridiculously expensive, since the ram is out of date.

@OP, can't speak much to 6570. 6870 is fantastic though.
