AirPlay not working

Hey guys, I was trying to use airplay mirroring from my macbook pro to apple tv 3 recently and I couldn't find the icon anywhere, nor can I find it now. When I went to system preferences > Displays, it said no devices were detected.

It is odd because it usually always works. There was a software update available that I didn't get because I didn't feel like waiting so I thought that might be why so I got the update and restarted my laptop and still nothing works..

What should I do? My laptop usually is able to do airplay mirroring but for some reason its not working. I tried googling the solution but couldn't find anything.

Tried rebooting your router?

I don't know about you but everytime I get problems like internet down and the like I always use ye olde tech advice "Reboot". Too bad it doesn't work for most things nowadays tho'
