How To Get iMovie?

Hi all,

I'm running OSX 10.6.8. According to the App Store the latest iMovie requires a higher OS.

I don't mind having an older version of iMovie, but I don't know where to get one.

You should have an iLife installer on the second grey Restore DVD, that came with your Mac. That way you can install iMovie.

I bought a used laptop with 10.6.8 installed, and it didn't come with install disks.

Do I need to buy an old version of iLife on eBay or something?

Looks like iLife '09 and 11 have the older versions of imovie.

Yeah, that's pretty good. Don't think you could find it for much cheaper.

I'd upgrade to Lion or Mountain lion if you have enough RAM (2GB or 4GB)
and your hardware supports it. They're better OSes and you'll be able to get iMovie and all the other iLife apps from the store.

Also, try contacting who you bought the laptop from.

Or, If you have a friend with a mac, copy the app from their computer using a flash drive. That would work just fine.
