Dropped iPod touch, how to fix? (pics)

Hey guys, I dropped my iPod Touch. The screen is cracked and the plastic seems to be cracked on the bottom as well. What are my options for repair? Hope to keep it under $100

Try looking for a local repair shop on Craigslist. I reckon it should be anywhere from $30-$60 to fix.

even with the plastic cracked on the bottom?

For 100 bucks, I'd do it with apple. Even if a 3rd party will do it for a few bucks less, you'd loose your warranty - and that would suck if you ever needed it.

Is that a 5? with such light weight, i thought it wouldn't crack so bad.

I suggest you pay for apple replacement, might cost more but at least the warrenty is still there.

If it's a 4 (looks like it) I'd learn to live with it for awhile. if I can't, then get it fixed.

Just pay $99 to Apple and get the replacement. iPod touch 4g screens are pretty much unrepairable.

This. I tried replacing one, and I ended up destroying it because I didn't ground it. It destroyed the boards. Those replacement screens are hard to keep on afterwards anyway.

We had a cracked 4G touch screen repaired by an outfit in Chicago last year. Cost $70 and they did a great job.

Given the plastic is cracked on the OP's touch, best to go with Apple.
