OS X: arcade type controller for mac

I have installed MAME OS X and the Elevator Action software so I'm good to go but the keyboard controls are nicht so gut.

I was wondering if it's possible to get some sort of controller that would work in Mountain Lion for controlling this game, the arcade game used to have a 4 way stick on the left and a couple of buttons on the right.
