Hello,

There are many Bluetooth speaker devices out there: two name a few, e.g.:

1) Jawbone's Big Jambox (has microphone for conference calls)

2) This logitech bluetooth speaker (but no mic)
http://ue.logitech.com/en-us/wireless-speakers/boombox

And many others; however, many do _not_ auto-connect to your iPhone when you are in proximity. Does anyone know one that does (with a mic preferred)?

For example when you get into a car (most bluetooth) systems auto-pair with your phone so you can take/make phone calls or stream music, imagine if you had to manually pair your phone each time you started your car.

Similarly, Panasonic phones have an option to attempt auto-connect once per minute (on or off).

Why don't Bluetooth speakers have this option?

With many of them you have to manually power then off/on to pair them, a real annoyance.

Justin.

Have you tried changing the Accessibility settings? Below is from the Apple Discussion forum:

Bruce2125 wrote:I have discovered a workaround for the issue which may be of use to other IOS6/iPhone5 users. I found that by going to Preferences/General/Accessibility/Physical and Motor/Incoming Calls and changing it from Default to Headset forces the iPhone to use the 'Headset' if one is available for incoming calls. As the bluetooth speaker on the handsfree is effectively a 'Headset' incoming calls are directed to the bluetooth speaker. When the phone is out of the car and the handsfree disconnects itself the phone behaves normally.

Gave it a try..

Unfortunately, it did not work as there was no established connection with the bluetooth speaker, one has to power cycle the speaker or pair it manually each time they go away > 33' of it (same with most other bluetooth speakers).

It's almost been a year, was curious if any bluetooth speakers support this functionality yet?
