Hi,

I have a new Mac Mini 2012,i7,16GB Ram.

When I render videos in PP CS6, I have a CPU usage of only 20-30% and it isn't really as fast as I was hoping for (it tells me in the Activity Monitor that 222% of CPU(s) are being used).
Source Material is SD and it doesn't matter if effects are used or not, speed is mostly real-time encoding (a 14min video without effects takes 10 minutes to render, with many effects turned on it's about 13-14 minutes).

Are there any settings I could turn on in order to increase rendering speed? After Effects seems to be a bit better, but also in a way too slow for an i7...

Thanks,
Chris

You are probably being bottle necked with the one hard drive that you have.
You need a scratch disc and a content disc to help speed things up.

Premiere doesn't use 100% cpu rate, even on my desktop.
AE will eat your comuter alive if there are no bottle necks.
