Yahoo account not pushing email on iPhone 5

I just got an iPhone 5 and have updated iOS 6.0.2. I have a yahoo mail account but it does not seem to push emails to my phone automatically, instead i have to open the mail app and update manually to get emails. I have read other forum posts that say to delete the account and re-enter it or create the account under "other" and using an imap/smtp but nothing seems to fix the problem. I previously had an iphone 4 and everything worked perfectly. Is there something wrong with the yahoo server or does it have to do with the yahoo mail setup?

This is a common issue with yahoo/iphone email accounts. Yahoo acknowledges the issue, but hasn't done anything about it.
