I was at a New Years party at a friends house. In his kitchen he had a USB outlet (receptacle) for his iPhone / iPad to charge. However, if the iPad was plugged in it would say "Not Charging", and if he was charging the iPhone the iPad wouldn't charge. Now just because it's saying "not charging" doesn't mean it's not charging, it just has too low of amps to do a proper charge.
The reason for this post is to share with everyone the right usb outlet to buy and some background information from an Apple post.
