Hello!

When I want to export a movie from Final Cut to a quicktime movie, I come across a problem. When the film is finished and is on the desktop it gets so laggy when I watch the movie. Usually it's when a clip of the film takes place. Either it will be black, green or gray in a second or so "melt" two clips together. I'll put up pictures of how it looks.

looks like corrupt renders. Try re-rendering the sequence and doing the conversion outside of final cut.

when you export do not make it self contained. then use compressor or another compression program to convert the desired format.

First off, what are your sequence settings (compressor/codec, pixel aspect, framerate)

2nd, what are your system specs?

To me, that looks like either a corruption, or a cpu/gpu issue.

Does it play back smoothly within FCP?

One trick is to delete your render files, re render then export.

It could also be that your video content codec is different then the setting of your sequence, and there is an issue while trying to render/transcode that section.

Also check your sequence settings (apple-0) and click on render settings, make sure it is on 8bit rgb, not 10 bit. That can solve alot of issues and speed up rendering a bit.
