Hi there,

We've just received a brand new iMac running Mountain Lion. We're attempting to connect it to our Windows Server 2003 using Active Directory.

Using our local admin account we've gone into Login options, Network Account Server, Edit, Open Directory Utility, and filled in all of our details. The only tab that doesn't have any info in it is Mappings (although we have no idea where to start with this).

Anyway, it connects fine, comes up with a green light saying we're connected, but we're finding that the connection is very intermittent. It takes a long time to connect to it when we try to access files, and it also drops off occasionally. For example, one of our programs is attempting to use a folder on the network to store files, but it keeps disconnecting to the program.

Any ideas why this would be happening?

I forgot to add, our Active Directory ends in .local. I've heard that could be part of the issue?
