Connection dilemna

I have to found out the problem. The problem arised when I was downloading torrents from my Mac, they took an incredibly long time oppose to when I first downloaded a torrent on my Mac and it was decent. I took a speedtest on my Mac.

Mac

Home Computer

iPhone

They are both connected to the same network. What's the problem here? ISP? Mac?

Your ISP might be throttling torrents.

Elaborate, because the download speeds for my Mac & PC are totally different for torrents.

All devices connected via wifi excluding the PC which is connected to a modem.

Sounds like you've solved it. Your WiFi / router might be the problem.

Which router are you using?

Linksys Wireless-G

Edit: I wish but the problem is iPhone gets a higher speed when connected to the WiFi then the Mac, if the Mac & iPhone were the same speed I'd understand.

G is pretty old and slow. Might be time to upgrade.

Want speed try a ASUS, NetGear or Apple Extreme dual band.

I have been thinking that for awhile, but that doesn't explain the big difference in speed between my Mac and PC/iPhone.

Wired Ethernet vs 802.11G no contest.

Only way to know is buy a new decent modern router.

That wouldn't explain the 12 mb/s difference between the iPhone & the Mac which are connected to the same router wireless.

Only way to find out is try a new router or wired Ethernet on the Air.

My MBA gets far worse speeds than my gf's laptop, our tablet, our phones, my PS3 and pretty much everything too, even though they're all connected to the same router and all have 100% signal strength to that router. Bloody annoying!

This also occurs to me until I reset the router. :/ Dunno why.
