When trying to open iphoto V9.2.3 on imac with OSX 10.6.8 I get the message
"Can not open current photo library using this version of iphoto"

"You have made changes to photo library using a newer version of iphoto. Please quit and use latest version of iphoto"

. I don't know how this happened and when I try to down load an update of iphoto I am told that I need a newer version of OSX.

Anyone know whats up with this??

iPhoto versions 9.3.3 and 9.4.2 require OS X 10.7 Lion or 10.8 Mountain Lion. Was the library you are trying to access copied from a newer system? Was the computer you are trying to open iPhoto on downgraded from a later version of the OS? Do you happen to have a disc in your optical drive created by the burn library to disc option in iPhoto from a newer Mac? To be eligible for the iPhoto updates and to open the iPhoto library, you must purchase and install a newer version of OS X. Otherwise, eject the disc (if there is one present) and try reopening iPhoto.
