So I am sure that you all have heard about these third party programs that allow you to install unsigned apps. Most of these programs are used for piracy, however is it possible to download an app that allows us to tether for free (since it would bypass the Apple store)? Or would we need the root access that a jailbreak offers?

----------

Also it doesn't have to be for free, I don't care. But paying a one time $5-15 fee is better than paying an extra $30 a month for the ability to tether when the opportunity arises that calls for it.

Man, what service are you using? For me on AT&T, it's a $15 increase (could have sworn it use to be $10). I don't know if what you're asking is against forums rules or not so I won't say anything one way or the other, but I have actually not heard of these 3rd party programs you're talking about. I have only ever used jailbreaks before.

OP, Who is your carrier? AT&T, Sprint or Verizon?

Verizon you get free tethering with your Share everything data plan.
