Idle Speculation (2014)

I'm looking to put away some money towards buying myself a new Macbook Air as a graduation present in 2014.

The deposit program requires me to specify the exact number of months for which I want to deposit the money (if I take it out early I get zero interest). So, I need to guess when the MBA will be refreshed in 2014.

I'm graduating in June 2014, so I think I'm going to say that I'll withdraw the money in June 2014 (hoping for a mid-2014 refresh). What do you guys think?

Any other idle speculation on this topic? What do you think we can expect to see in the 2014 refresh?

---

PS: I currently own a late-2010 MBA (11") and I want to buy the same thing again in 2014.

Mid-2014 (summer) is a good bet, seeing as Apple usually refreshes the line right after Intel releases new chips right in time for back to school. Intel is keeping its yearly tick-tock release schedule, so chances are they'll aim for a mid-year Broadwell release like for Sandy Bridge, Ivy Bridge and Haswell.

That of course if assuming they're staying with Intel and are not making an ARM based Air or some other crazy stuff.

My personal expectation is for it to have of course a new CPU/iGPU (Intel Broadwell), still 4GB RAM on the base model, 128GB starting storage with up to 768GB in (now cheaper) BTO options, 1/2 chance of having a 16GB RAM option, possibly a Retina Display, if not it'll probably be cheaper overall and have a slightly better battery life.

Retina display (possibly in 2013 already)
Touchscreen
Tablet

Well, I wish it would become a tablet. A 2lb. slab with connections for power, FW, etc., or a single connector that has a branch adaptor. Apple should really take the Air to tablet and leave the Pro as a laptop, or at least try an Air-Tablet alongside Air-Laptops to test the market.

I can't think of anything worse. The Air is useful as it is, if they turned it into a tablet they'd lump iOS on it, this would decrease it's usefulness.
