What's console.log.1?

This file - console.log.1 is taking up 40 gigs on my hard drive all of the sudden and I have no idea what it does or if I can delete it. Can anyone help?

console.log is a log of certain system activities. console.log.1 is an older log and can be deleted. Do not delete console.log itself.
