Removed Mac OS by mistake on dual boot system

I had lion and windows vista installed on my iMac. I wanted to re-install my lion and in the process I removed it but could not re-install it as Apple have removed it from Mac Store. Now my Mac system has only windows vista. It boots with windows vista only. I have to get back to MAC OS. I have tried all tricks and done lots of searching on google but I am not able to run lion on my system. I have DVD of snow leopard, will it help. I have tried to use it but it doesnt stays for much time in cd rom. Can someone please help me get back to my Mac System. Thanks in advance.

Regards
Pankaj

What about recovery, Hold down Command-R at startup, or did you erase the Recovery partition.
Holding Option at startup brings you to a boot screen, what is there.

BTW how old is your mac, if it's an older one it does not have internet recovery in its firmware, if it is it should have.
I guess it a pre 2010-2011 one.

Only way to get it is to Install SL and then upgrade.

Yo do a clean install, but make sure not to select the Windows (Boot Camp) partition to format/erase before installing Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard.
Just select the former partition where Mac OS X 10.7 Lion was installed.
To create a Clean Install (formerly known as Erase & Install) of Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard, follow one of the following guides:

I am able to reach Recovery System. There in Disk Utility I can see dmg image but I am not able to restore it.
I also have option Reinstall Mac OS X but when I select it I get an alert that Mac OS 10.7 is not available.

I think the reason is, you did not pay for 10.7, if you did it should download.

Yours came with SL I guess, one way or the other you installed 10.7, if you installed it the legal way by buying then something is amiss.
