iPod touch restoring backup files from iOS 4.3 to iOS 6

hey guys, first time posting here

so ive had my iPod Touch 4th gen. for about 2years now and i wanted to upgrade my iOS from 4.3 to 6.. and i was just wondering if i would still get my old files back once ive upgraded to iOS 6?

what im gonna do:

1. backup my files from 4.3
2. upgrade iOS to iOS 6
3. restore backup

Question: will i have my old songs, apps and photos?

i dont sync my songs, apps and photos on iTunes and im mainly depending on my iTunes backup files once ive upgraded to iOS 6..
