How to move from mac to mac and keep all apps/documents settings etc.

Hi Guys,

I have a Classic MBP 13" and am deciding to move to the Retina Macbook Pro 13"

I currently backup my Mac using time machine (and I assume everything is backed up)

Is there a way i can use the backup of my current mac, and use it on the retina Mac I will soon buy.

If so, great. Otherwise.. what is the fastest way to move all my apps/documents across?? Wifi Settings etc. Even the extras I get through MacPorts

Cheers for your help guys!

Setup / Migration Assistant can do that for you.

Migration Assistant / Setup Assistant information:
