Sleep issue with ethernet connectivity
every time my laptop goes to sleep ether by closing the led or manual sleep step by clicking the apple menu and then hit sleep and when the system is waked up from sleep no ethernet connection it says Not connected

I'm having the same issue with a 2011 iMac and a 2009 iMac.
Try disabling the "Wake for administrator access" in the energy settings.
2009 27" iMac 2.8GHz Core i7, 32GB RAM, 2TB HDD
2012 15" Macbook Pro, 2.2GHz Core i7, 16GB RAM, 256GB SSD & 750GB HDD (no optical drive)
