embed video in email body?

Is there a way to send small video clip embedded in the email
just like a picture, so there is no linking, going elsewhere,
downloading, etc? I can send via gmail & send via apple mail.
Does the embeddedness fail depending on the receivers
email configurations, etc?
Thanks

Video may be embedded just like still images. That is to say that they may be sent as attachments. The display of images, both still and moving, is controlled on the recipient's end--not on the sender's end. If your recipient's email client has the ability to view attachments, then they will be viewed. If your recipient's email client cannot view attachments, then they will not be viewed.

SMTP is one of the protocols involved in transferring email from point A-B. I believe that the maximum attachment size is 20MB (up from 10!). Binary attachments such as video get MIME encoded, making them larger than original. An unfortunate problem with attachments that are too large is that the transfer point drops them if they are too large, with no notification. This, among other reasons, is why operations such as yousendit and dropbox exist today.

understood, thank you. Now what if I want to embed a 1 MB video?
So it would appear like this & be functional, no download procedures, no links to elsewhere, etc.:

Your question has been asked too many times to count. The answer is always the same. There is no such thing as embedded graphics [or video]. There are only attachments. Graphics [and video] appear to be embedded because the recipient's email client has been programmed to display graphic [and video] content inline. Senders [including you] have virtually no control over this. It makes no difference is you send your video as an attachment using Outlook, Mail, Thunderbird, or Classic Eudora. You may even send your video as an attachment using Unix command line mail or pine. The result will be the same. If the recipient's email client can display the attached video inline, then it will. If the recipient's email client can't display the attached video inline, then it won't.

As with any standard attachment, there are no links involved. The attached file is downloaded with the host message.

OK here's the ticket. Post it on you tube and send the email with the link. It opens the you tube right there in the email like I wanted. Hope this works on other email accounts than google ??

Video in emails

As a video production company we have been experimenting with ways to get our videos to play in emails sent to our clients etc.

We have been able to produce emails that play in Mac Mail, iphone and Ipads.
For other email clients we have produced a fall back web page which is accessed by clicking on a hyperlink which then takes the viewer to a web page from where the video plays. Its almost seem less.

However my web man creates two web pages one containing the video , one we send whilst the other is the fall back page for those without mac mail etc. We produce three identical videos, mpeg4, webm and ogg format.

I'm no computer expert I had a PEEK at basic computer studies when at college but decided they could POKE it.

Email me and I'll send you a sample email info@media-impact.co.uk
