encrypted folder enlarging problem

hey, i have an encrypted folder made in disk utility (7.5 gb) recently it started running out of space so i thought, no problem i'll just enlarge the size to 10 gb

So i did that without any problem, the folder is now 10 gb BUT the disk copy (that opens up to work from when you give the password) is still only 7.5 gb..

Any suggestions? (i already tried running omnidisksweeper and restarting, didn't help)


ps. i run os x 10.6.8 on an intel mbp

Create a new encrypted sparse disk image. Then copy the “old” data from the old disk image to the new disk image. Use Finder or srm to securely delete the old encrypted disk image file.
