Automatic deselect in Finder? [10.6]

I was wondering if there exists any software that makes Finder automatically deselect files/folders when I open them (double click). My OCD annoys me when I leave stuff selected. I know it's easy enough to click away to deselect, but it wastes time to have to do that whenever I open something.

I imagine such software likely doesn't exist due to low demand, but I just want to check if anyone knows of something that would do this.
