what is the process "networkd" doing?

Hi.

I am going through my processes, just to know what they do. But I cant find anything about this one.

The process name is "networkd" and it's run by the user "_networkd" it's the only process the user is running.

I think it's alarming that I can't find anything so it would be nice to know there nothing wrong :-)

There's nothing to be alarmed about. It's related to OS X networking.
