Excellent battery
For all those that say the battery life on the iPhone 5 is rubbish I think it's great look at this

I agree. But it also depends heavily on what apps you are running...Etc. If you are watching movies I can guarantee you will not be getting the numbers you show. On the other hand if you are listening to music with the screen off you will get ridiculous battery life. But overall yes the battery is pretty good on the 5. I consistently average between 7-8 hours of total usage. Sometimes less, sometimes more depending on what I'm doing.

In the OP’s screenshot I noticed that the battery life was 4 out of 5 bars - Signal plays a huge role in determining your phone’s battery life. If you were getting 1 or 2 bars of reception most of the time (or even worse, cutting in and out of signal) then your battery life would be MUCH worse. And most of the people who are complaining probably have that sort of signal.

Anytime someone posts a picture of their usage hours on their phone, I take it with a grain of salt. It really depends on what type of tasks you're running on your phone, how many apps you're multitasking with, and your last battery charge cycle.

Can the people in this thread provide a real usage breakdown measured by an app like Android phones provide out of the box? Because the single usage numbers provided here are meaningless as to what it is for. Apple includes anything it does as usage even if you are not using the phone, like checking for notifications or syncing with contacts or itunes stuff. It greatly inflates the usage numbers shown.

I still fail to see how people are getting almost 10 hours. I do light stuff and can only get 6-ish / 6.5 hours.

I am still on iOS 6.0 and have great battery life also. I will not update unless the jailbreak requires it.

I think mine is doing pretty good. All I really did was a couple txt messages, tweets, listen to music and some light browsing. So not that bad.

Mine might stretch to 4 hrs with a mixture of iMessage, Emails, Twitter/FB on both Wifi and 3G.

I have had better stats than this. I don't do a lot of heavy stuff. I do a clean install once a month and drain the battery fully once a week.

Yeah really. Why would I want to restore my device every month? Too much trouble for good battery life.

I get what you're saying, although it's no work at all for me
![]() For battery life? I don't care about battery life, I care for a fast, snappy and responsive phone. I don't mind doing these things.
