Question Late 2009 iMac RAM upgrade

Hi,

I was thinking about upgrading the ram on my late 2009 iMac (3.06 GHz C2D) that currently has 4 GB of 1067 MHz DDR3 ram, divided in two 2GB modules each.

Being that I have two free ram modules left, what would you suggest to do?
can I install 2x4 GB more ram for a total of 12 GB? Does anyone of you upgraded to this configuration? or is it more recommended to stick with the 2 GB modules and upgrade to 8 GB?

And also what brand of ram would you recommend? I know it has to be 1066 MHz DDR3 but I see there's a lot of price difference between different brands and I was wondering why.

Thanks

I would recommend Crucial as one of the good brands of memory.

As for how much memory costs where I live, I would opt for the 2x4GB to put into the empty slots. 12 GB is a perfectly fine configuration.
