.MOV Problem

Whenever I import a .MOV file from my iPhone 3gs it is all laggy and sound is off in quicktime and vlc but when I put it in iMovie HD it plays fine. Is there any good video player for ppc g4? I like vlc so keep that in mind. The iPhone plays it fine and once i convert it in iMovie it works fine I just want it to work well though.
