AppleTV, iPad2 Airplay mirroring not working.
We have just purchased an AppleTV and are trying to set up the AirPlay with our iPad2. I have connected the HomeShare on our MacBookPro. Even if I have the laptop shut down it seems the only unit the AppleTV is connecting to is the laptop.
I have turned AirPlay 'ON' on the AppleTV I have made sure everything is connected to the right wifi Our wifi router is an Airport Extreme Our iPad2 has IOS 6 on it The AppleTV is connected to a Sony bdv-hz970w receiver The iPad will share/show what is on the computer but will not mirror on the TV. Any help in getting this mirrored correctly greatly appreciated. Last edited by Mary H; Jan 17, 2013 at 09:02 PM. |

Did you actually turn on mirroring? Double tap the home button, then swipe twice to the left (which is actually a left to right motion) brings up the airplay mirroring "button". You should see the AppleTV under this and the option to turn on Mirroring....

Solved :)
Thank you very much! None of the articles I read mentioned swiping the opposite direction so I couldn't find the mirroring option. I have never gone in that direction.
We may actually keep it after all
