Straight Talk Iphone4 vs 5

Hi All,

I'm helping my mom decide whether or not to pull the trigger on this, need some advice.

I've heard the iphone5 uses Verizon vs the Iphone4 uses AT&T? True or untrue, is the iphone5 worth another $200. I prefer buying from straight talk vs dealing with issues on Ebay etc.

How much is the total bill with taxes and all? $45 or more than that?

Do any features not work? Texting, visual voice mail, etc?

I think you're better off just getting the iphone 4.
There's been reports that apple plans to introduce the 5S in June. So you could wait for that.
And everytime I've bough my card at Walmart, I paid 45 straight up. No taxes.
Other thing, visual voicemail won't work on straight talk and sometimes mms is tricky to set up, but on the other hand, it's a great service for 45 bucks a month.

The official ST iPhone is CDMA but if you want to buy a factory unlocked iPhone 5, you can cut a micro sim and use the BYOD plan, monthly price is the same I believe.

You'll have to do some tweaking to get data working, more so (jailbreak) for MMS. Regular SMS will work fine and you can use iMessage to send photos. Visual voice mail is completely out.

What do you mean tweaking to get data working? Even buying the phone from Straight talk or do you mean if i just get an unlocked one? Also by CDMA do you mean Verizon vs AT&T?

If you buy the Straight Talk branded iPhone, no hacking or tweaking is necessary to get data and MMS working. The straight talk branded iPhone uses Verizon's CDMA network.

If you want to use the Bring Your Own Phone SIM program, tweaking is necessary for data, and hacking or jail breaking is necessary for MMS. The BYOP program uses AT&T's GSM network.
