When will a DA finally have the guts to RICO the Catholic Church?

Every time another one of these articles comes out, revealing how the Catholic Church systematically covered up child abuse, aided and abetted perps and silenced victims, I wonder what will it take? What else needs to happen for such a clean cut, potentially international criminal conspiracy to be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law?

Maybe one of you US folks should start a petition that the White House/Feds to go after them. If you get enough votes together, at least they have to answer. They did answer the damned Death Star thing. Let them justify why Holder hasn't gone after this cult. The evidence for a federal investigation should be overwhelming.

They might have a problem of Statute of limitations. Also the burden of proof for a criminal case is a hell of a lot higher than a civil case (or what the media has to report as evidence by faux news)

Their may be a lot of evidence but not enough for a solid convections. Yes we know they are guilty but proving in court is the hard part.

I don't think evidence would be an issue as we've seen with the Saville enquiry over here - you just need to open the floodgates and the evidence overwhelms you. Problem with the DA's office is it's a political position as much as a legal one. Wouldn't be safe to take on such a large institution as the court result could be 5/6+ years down the line, by which time the DA has already lost his job, possibly over the back of it.

Can this not be done on a Federal level?

Catholic Church in LA has released 1000's of files to LA prosecutors related to child abuse. http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2013...ld-abuse-files
