Something tells their is more to this than what we know. I don't fully believe Apple just took this app off the top App Store out of the blue. It must have been because of a customer complaint that made them target it more or something.

Considering Apple hasn't blocked web browsers or search engines which could easily be used to search nude pictures, something tells me we are missing part of the story. I know when I downloaded Google Chrome it said you had to be like 17 or older. So something tells me that would have done just that except their must be something more to this story.

You realize you just proved the point of everybody 'badmouthing' Apple, right?

This has probably more to do with their legal department protecting that 100+ billion nest egg from law suits and worries about a boycott from some outraged organization, then moral judgement on Apples part.....

So there's no chance that there was a logical reason they did this? It had to be inconsistency and hypocrisy? You're proving my point about the 'badmouthers'....

I'm a photographer on 500px, and my portfolio has nudity in it.

This idea of protecting someone from artistic expressions in this area is a little ridiculous. People can make their own choices about what they see and what they don't.

500px puts a warning on every image that is even remotely 'adult' (even implied nudity) and you have to click through that to see the image. The only exception to this is when a photographer like me uses 500px for a hosting site that links directly via your domain (and effectively suppresses the 500px logic and allows the photographer to present their photos as they like).

I recall buying a censored fashion magazine in the app store - which I thought was pretty stupid, and I asked for my money back.

This is pretty silly stuff.

I couldn't care less about nudity, but if there's one thing I can't stand it's a self-righteous gloater who has made the mistake of assuming himself a moral authority, and castigating others from on high.

That these are the very people who further the US's physically and mentally unhealthy approach to nudity and sex, and its appetite for destruction and violence, is no coincidence. Back to the Bronze Age with that line of thinking.

Don't join them, Apple, or you can join them...

The pics I've seen using Apples Safari App would make a hardened pornographer cringe. Cringe with delight of course.

I noticed that too - But for Safari you don't have to be 17 or older, funnily enough

A. This has happened many times before to high profile apps.
B. The logic behind your 'point' also serves to disprove it...

Apple... don't take away the violent games! Funny how people see nudity as being *BAD* when it is a normal human condition. Violent games or movies are considered OK.

Don't get me wrong... none of the above bothers me... we should each be able to make our own decision of what is art and what is trash.

The fact that Apple is playing the moral police is disgusting. They have no business intruding on users' free choices of information.

Sorry, but this is stupid.

They better remove every email, and browser app, because they can also display nudity.

Oh and remove their own camera app, so I don't take a nude photo.

Simple solution

Don't like looking at nude images on your device? Well don't look! It's called personal responsibility!

Apple doesn't do the ratings, the developers do. Apple's only mistake is in trusting them to do it well.

Reason has also been discussed. The ratings is off from where it should be.

I think you mean download. Because being pulled from the Store doesn't mean you have to stop using it if you already have it.

However, parents can shut it off if they choose on their kids' devices. And then use a browser with parental controls. If you are an adult, do whatever you want, you can even be snarky on the internet. Enjoy.

Side point. When will it become cool to rebel against the internet standards, like being a sarcastic sob? Can't wait.

The United States has a very sick view of the human body. Somehow, old biddies have evidently taken over and the human body is something to be hidden away and to be ashamed of. THAT is truly sick!!!

Of course old biddies and 50-something nudist protestors SHOULD be hidden away. But young pretty females....that is just pure beauty!!!

So let's see the "evidence"!!!!
